Mayfair Sculpture Trail – 12 days left!

Last month saw the return of Mayfair Art Weekend - an annual celebration that champions the diversity and resilience of the exceptional galleries residing in the world’s internationally renowned gallery district.

For those of you who missed the Mayfair Art Weekend events in June you can still catch an element of the celebration by joining the third edition of the Mayfair Sculpture Trail in collaboration with Art in Mayfair.

The trail starts with the monumental work of David Breuer-Weil at Berkeley Square and then follows a clockwise route around Mayfair exploring Grosvenor Square where you will find ‘Dancing’ by Maurice Blik and Lee Gill Rae’s stunning pine tree made of copper. You can then head to New Bond Street to discover the new work by Kojo Marfo and nearby Andy Denzler’s ‘Selfie’ (as shown in the image below). Detour to the newly redesigned Hanover Square to find ‘Peace Head’ by Yoshitomo Nara which will be installed until 30 October. You will finish your trail on Old Bond Street with Michael Speller’s ’Nourish'. The Mayfair Sculpture Trail also highlights the permanent public artworks of the area: Lawrence Holofcener’s Allies on New Bond Street, commissioned to mark 50 years of peace; Three Figures by sculptor Neal French at Bourdon Place that captures the moment photographer Terence Donovan snapped model Twiggy for an iconic photo of 1966, and watched by a passer-by; on Bruton Lane Banksy’s Falling Shopper, depicting a shopper falling dramatically through the air trying to clutch a shopping trolley; Joel Shapiro’s stunning untitled bronze sculpture high above the entrance to 23 Savile Row; two “hidden in plain sight” Antony Gormley’s; the Spectral Stream mosaic by Antoni Malinowski; Bruce McLean’s Handbag Heads; Elisabeth Frink’s Horse and Rider outside Ralph Lauren; and Henry Moore’s Time-Life Screen above Hermes; and for the first time we are also spotlighting ‘Moving Forward’ by Jill Berelowitz which stands proudly outside 45 Park Lane.
