‘In Conversation With’ is a podcast series brought to you by Boodle Hatfield - a leading private client and real estate law firm in the UK. Throughout this series, we shine a spotlight on innovative and inspiring individuals, groups, leaders and organisations who are forging change for the next generation. These conversations will not only highlight the triumphs, but also reflect on some of the challenges faced in society, business and home life.

In this episode, Partner, Clare Stirzaker is joined by two leading individuals in the family business sector, who share some their perspectives on what it means to be a ‘responsible business’ and how this can forge change for future generations. Karen Greenshields is the Managing Director of Technical and Environmental Services at GAP Group and is one of the four third generation members involved in GAP Hire Solutions – a family business established in 1969 and now the UK’s largest independent hire company. Neil Davy is the CEO of Family Business UK. Originally established in 2001 as the Institute for Family Business, Family Business UK is now the largest organisation in the UK dedicated solely to supporting, representing and championing family business. Together they discuss the flexibility that being a family business provides in comparison to their public company counterparts and the importance of having ‘the right people on the bus and in right seats’.
