Companies House Changes – Fees Increase effective 1 May 2024
Written by
Companies House fees have increased as of 1 May 2024, and the increase is quite significant. This will affect all new and existing UK companies.
Last month, it cost £10 to incorporate a new company and £13 to file a confirmation statement; today it will cost you £50 to incorporate a company (£78 for same day) and £34 to file your confirmation statement electronically (£62 via paper).
A confirmation statement submitted on 5 May 2024 would be charged the new, higher fee, even if it made up to a date before 1 May 2024.
Sources say the rise in costs comes as no surprise given the increased powers and wide reforms affecting Companies House under the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act.
The Registrar has clarified that these adjustments are based on cost recovery to cover service delivery expenses without any added profit mark up.
