Written by

Boodle Hatfield has today published – ‘Behind the best of London property for 300 years’ - a real estate guide uncovering the trends, forces and mechanisms currently shaping London property, drawing on the firm’s 300 years of experience.

Written by the Real Estate team, the guide is available to download online as part of the firm’s celebration of its 300th anniversary.

From the foundations of Belgravia laid out in the 1820s, to the redevelopment of one of London’s most iconic squares, Cavendish Square, Boodle Hatfield has been instrumental in shaping the streets, squares and mews that form prime central London as we know it today.

Drawing on its legacy working with London’s greatest estates, Boodle Hatfield’s Real Estate practice marks the firm’s 300th anniversary by outlining the developments shaping the sector. The guide lays out existing and future market forces determining the state of London property, from meeting the demands of new technology with agility and foresight to tapping into the potential of ESG. With upcoming regulation and legislation on the horizon, the team is committed to sharing its on-the-ground insights on how to protect and future-proof your London-based assets.

This guide follows the publication of Family Law Partner Katie O’Callaghan’s book on safeguarding family businesses in the face of divorce, and comes as the next instalment of the firm’s series of initiatives shining a spotlight on evolving aspects of law, life and society.

Commenting on the publication, Simon Williams, Partner and Head of Property at Boodle Hatfield, said:

“London real estate retains its title as one of the world’s leading safe havens in the face of market volatility, both on a domestic and global level.  However, investors cannot simply sit back.  In order to maintain value, stakeholders must adapt and evolve with the market, which for the foreseeable future is likely to remain in flux.

Boodle Hatfield is celebrating its 300 year anniversary and, just like those that have gone before us, our current property team is able to use their extensive knowledge of the London market to identify current demands and advise on changes that will be required, whether driven by market forces or as a result of upcoming legislation. This will ensure the continued success of our clients investing in the London property market.”
